WORK OPPORTUNITIES

If you're looking for more experience behind the scenes of a pottery studio, apply to join our team! We have work exchange shifts for creatives looking to learn in exchange for studio access as well as paid positions for experienced teachers.



VOLUNTEER/WORK EXCHANGE
We are looking for volunteers to help us maintain our studio. This offers young people or anyone looking for an immersive experience an in-depth look at how a pottery studio functions.

The ideal candidate is:

  • At least 6 months-1 year of experience
  • Open to learning, able to take direction and work independently
  • Familiar with working in a fast-paced environment
  • Passionate about maintaining a safe and clean environment 
  • Tech savvy 
  • A team player who wants to grow with the MAS community

Volunteers will receive:

  • Training to manage the studio and fulfill orders for products and services
  • Access to all studio equipment
  • Open studio hours
  • Discounts on clay and tools
  • Hands-on experience on all parts of the clay process, including throwing on the wheel, trimming, and glazing
  • Education on kiln firing and maintenance 
  • Experience in re-using and recycling clay
  • Opportunities to design their own workshops, if desired

STUDIO TECHS AND TEACHERS
We also have paid positions available for studio techs and teachers. The ideal candidate is:

  • Experienced with clay, glazing, and kiln loading
  • A great communicator who teaches guests new skills using different learning strategies
  • Capable of handling 6-8 guests per class
  • Knowledgeable about the studio's classes, products, and services and can answer questions from guests over the phone or in-person 
  • Responsible for fulfilling orders over the phone and in-person and accepting payment
